Super Bowl Grid and How To Set Up A Football Pool

Liven up your next football party by organizing Super Bowl Squares, a game of chance that everyone can play.

To play Super Bowl Squares, you need 100 squares (ten by ten grid) on a piece of paper. Download one at the link below or you can make your own. Each square should be large sufficient to allow your guests to write in their names.

Charge a certain amount for each square (.00 is very ordinary; 0 pot value) and allow your guests to randomly write their name in the digit of boxes bought (ex. .00 gets them 5 squares).

Once the Super Bowl grid is completely filled in with guest names, place the name of one Super Bowl football team (we’ll call them Team 1) across the top of the grid and the opposing team name (Team 2) down the left side.

Now it’s time to choose numbers for the Super Bowl Squares. By the ace owing to ten from a deck of cards (the ten will be the zero), have a bigwig randomly draw cards and place the digit at the top of a column in the Super Bowl grid. Shuffle the cards and do the same thing down the side of the grid.

Now at the top of each of the 10 columns there should be a digit on paper in (zero owing to 9) and also at the beginning of each row.

The most ordinary way to determine the winner is to use the final score and the “last digit method.” Let’s use an example.

Team 1 score:  21
Team 2 score:  14

The last digit for Team 1 (across the top of the grid) is “1.”
The last digit for Team 2 (down the side of the grid) is “4.”

Find the place on the Super Bowl Squares grid where the 1 intersects with the 4. The person whose name is in that box wins the pot.

The nice thing about playing Super Bowl Squares is that you can alter it every time you play.  You may want to charge .00 per square, for example or you may want to pay out parts of the pot after each quarter.

It’s also simple to organize, doesn’t cost much and gets people excited about watching the game.

New Orleans Saints Vs. Indianapolis Colts Predictions, Sunday Super Bowl New Orleans Saints Vs. Indianapolis Colts Predictions, Super Bowl

Electronic Arts has established a yearly tradition of by its latest entry in the Madden NFL run to predict the way the Super Bowl game will turn out. And this year, the results, obtained by Madden NFL 10, the latest stats and a secret procedure EA is not revealing, are favoring the New Orleans Saints, the champions of the NFC, which are set to take down the Indiana Colts, the representatives of the AFC, by 35 to 31.

It’s one of the closest games that the publisher has simulated and most of the specialized betting services are saying that the game will be going to the Colts when Sunday comes.

Electronic Arts predicted Super Bowl XLIII pretty well, with the initial Pittsburgh domination, then giving way to a comeback on the part of the Cardinals who ultimately failed to dislodge the advantage of the Steelers, who took home the trophy. Madden NFL has managed to predict the winners of five of the last six Super Bowl matches and Electronic Arts is saying that both Championship matches, for the AFC and the NFC, were accurately called for this season.

The Madden NFL 10 simulation is stating that as the fourth quarter starts, the Indiana Colts are set to have a lead of 24 to 21. Reggie Bush of the Saints starts by returning a punt for a touchdown and the Colts respond with a collaborative effort between Peyton Manning and Joseph Addai.

The game clincher comes from Drew Brees, who also goes on to win the Most Valuable Player of the XLIV Super Bowl. It would be the first time in the 40+ history of the New Orleans Saints when they pick up the Super Bowl trophy. It will be fascinating to see whether the real results on Sunday will match the Electronic Arts simulation.

Chef Merlin: Cheese Football for Super Bowl Party

I hosted a Super Bowl Party this year and made some tasty food. Unfortunately, I only got the first part of the Cheese Football on video (even if I did end telling how to make it in an audio file at the end). I also include a video for a simple appetizer that I made at the party… I recreated it just for you guys. Stay tuned after the credits for that small bonus feature. The cheese football is a honestly simple recipe to make… the catch is you have to start making it several hours in advance so that it can re-chill in the refrigerator. Here is what you need for this recipe: 2 packages of Cream Cheese (16oz total)* 2 Cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese 1/2 Cup of Parmesan Cheese 1/2 Cup Miracle Whip (or salad dressing) 2 Conservational Onions (diced) 1 Cup Chopped Pecans Cheese Wiz (canned cheese) for laces *Soften Cream Cheese in Microwave for 30 seconds* **This is a KRAFT recipe. The only difference is that I substituted cheese wiz for pimento slices. **************************************** ** I am a firm believer in the principle that “anyone can cook,” and invite viewers from all backgrounds and all levels of cooking experience to join me in making some nice meals. Feel free to make changes to my recipes as you see fit. I hope you will subscribe to my videos and share with me your experiences with my recipes, including changes you make.
